Len Bernard Art
The Official Homepage of Len Bernard's Art.

Welcome to the official homepage for Len Bernard's art.

Influenced by early 20th century modernism in Europe and the American expressionist and abstract school of the 1950's and 60's, Len Bernard began painting seriously three short years ago. Primarily using oil and acrylic Len's pictures are colorful and bold and blend an abstract expressionist approach with what some have described as almost central american native art.

Len held his first show at Crazy Monkey Gallery in the hamlet of Amagansett, N.Y. in October 2008, which is where Len was raised. Read a review of Len's show written by artist Eric Ernst, grandson of surrealist master Max Ernst and son of famous abstract master Jimmy Ernst. Len continues to have art displayed at the gallery.

Over the last year, Len has sold several pieces, including a large pastel and multiple pencil on paper drawings.

Self taught, Len's adulthood friendships with many in the local Hampton's art community kindled the flame for painting that was faintly burning since Len sold a watercolor at the 1966 Guild Hall Clothesline Art Show when he was in fourth grade. That fire has now been stoked.

Len has participated in more recent Clothesline Shows at Guild Hall in East Hampton, N.Y., as well as several shows at Ashawagh Hall in Springs, N.Y. over the last four years. He has sold privately and has pieces hanging in a number of homes in the Hamptons as well in states like Florida, Washington, New Jersey and Texas.

Len paints at his home on Bluff Road in Amagansett, where he lives with his wife Kathy who studied art at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
